This is now a requirement of Tofu's at night. When horses are being fed he goes pacing to windown in house just to come outside with us for hoot and hollar time!

  • Hey they really are loud! He's awesome, your neighbours must love him lol

I would like to get a second hand sulfur crested one day when I can afford my own property :)

Did the vet say why he was chewing himself? That really is sad. I have heard from some sources that diet can be a major factor for some reason.

  • It's not the diet. I have been to 3 different vets. Research? All said get aviary get girlfriend. Not! Lots of bathing, attention, good diet, sun, and he is getting better. Once they start, hard to stop. My neighbors do love him. I hope you get that second hand sulfur someday.

  • in fact you can see this bird has already begun drilling a hole in its chest. even with the best care some mature cockatoos do this.

you need to research more about your pet.

  • Research more?

  • I love his self-expression!

  • My Moluccan LOVES LOVES LOVES the barn and the horses too! Good to see another "ranch too"

  • Tofu is just wonderful!

  • Your sweet 'too already seems to be easily stressed - thus the collar, so how did it work out taking Tofu out of his comfort zone, into this strange environment. Did he love the strange sights, sounds and noises, or did it make him worse?

  • I am glad to see that you are taking good care of your too!!!! He is beautiful(even with his current state). I rescue parrots and alot of people just get them because they are beautiful and put them in a cage and leave them alone. I am happy to see that you take yours outside to play!!!

  • to stop the bird from plucking or tearing its flesh apart.

very sad. if you own a cockatoo you should know about this
