The Solar Shading App for Android smartphones provides photovoltaic installer/designers a complete solar shading analysis in a few minutes.

The Solar Shading App can also be used by landscape designers, landscapers, and gardeners wanting to know the pattern of sunlight over a specific plot of ground.

Using your Android phone's compass, GPS, and accelerometer, the Solar Shading App maps the horizon and/or obstructions (buildings, trees, etc.) to sunlight and provides a graphical representation of the sun path as well as a chart of the percentage of daylight hours lost per month due to shading.

This analysis can be printed to PDF and sent to yourself or a client. Multiple shading analyses can be performed and saved to the user's SD card.
