After being introduced by former Cedar Rapids mayor Paul Pate, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani spoke and took questions at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Wednesday night.
Pate is the state chair for Giuliani's campaign in Iowa.
While answering questions Giuliani gave an interpretation of the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) released last week, but he let his audience connect the dots. The NIE report said Iran gave up its nuclear weapons program in 2003.
When he asked, "What was going on in 2003 that might have gotten them to stop?" Giuliani's Linn County Chairman Craig Nelson piped up with the answer, "We invaded Iraq."
Moments later, Giuliani invited Nelson to stand up and talk about Libya. Nelson expanded Giuliani's claim about Iran's halted weapons program westward to Libya. Nelson said, "Libya stopped its nuclear weapons production because of the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq."
Mr.Nelson's view on Rudy is right on. Lower taxes, less gov't, and a straight shooter that talks the talk and gets results. Rudy has already proven he's a great leader and will make one great and exciting President that will make all of our lives better.

Regardless of what you think about the views of this man, you must admire his joy and zeal in his candidate. I hope when I am that age I can find something in the political/secular realm that I am that excited about. When Mr. Nelson and Mr. Giuliani embrace at around the 0:16 mark in the video, it makes me think how nice it is that our political process is one of engagement and not one of purges and gulags.

Supposed "true believers" have a caricature of Rudy. On every issue he's pro-freedom:cut taxes, cut spending, cut employees, privatize K-12 and SS, free market health care & originalist judges. Advisor Steve Forbes and T. Boone Pickens are foremost advocates of minimalist govt. Rudy proposed this week lowering corporate tax from 35% to 25%. The other candidates with the exception of Fred Thompson are intellectual lightweights or one issue nuts.

This guy is seriously delusional if he thinks no one else is as pro limited government or free market as Rudy. Give me break, this is obviously the Rudy people trying to repeat some Ron Paul lines that are proven winners with the people. They are trying to attribute that to Rudy now which is total nonsense.
