The Sikh community in Pompey have a lot of respect anyway, they drink and mix in local pubs, they speak English and generally join in. They also are proud people and are a great asset to have anywhere they settle . Perhaps if all communities could take a leaf out of their book there wouln't be any derision.

The speaking of English i wouldn't be concerned about because many of the young ones are not learning the language of their ancestors .

I saw a documentary that explained that when we imported people after ww2,the government thought it would be a good idea to send regionally selected groups of people all to the same place.

This explains why Leicester has many Gujarati,Bradford Pakistanis ect ect

Incidentally when my son was born he was cared for 1 on 1 by a muslim nurse around the clock and it was this care which saved his life .I dont think he was cared for less because he wasn't a Muslim

@portsanity b4 9/11 muslims and english were mixing well. truth is theres a war against islam and u cant expect muslims to be happy about it. i admit some of them are extreme but some just protest against the wars but nearly all are not active with regards to violence.
