  • Cycle times may not be matched and line may not be balanced but It definitely is single piece flow. The Cell starting point is with the raw material and has to have inventory. In between work stations Work In Process (WIP) is minimal though ideally it could be one. The basic underlying principle in single piece flow manufacturing is; 'Man can wait Machine can wait but material should not wait to begin with.

  • This is NOT one piece flow! Operator 2's cycle time is faster than operator one. These is batch production going on with operator 1, 2, 3 and 4. Good thing you have plenty of WIP in place waiting for the next operations. Look at all the inventory sitting around waiting at each operation. Come on guys, you can do better than this.

  • Where are you're safety glasses??
