If you need 10x or more, then a good quality loupe would be good. If you need a larger field of view and lower magnification then a good magnifying glass should do the trick. Take something that you need to examine and go to a store where they have magnifying glasses to see it that will do the job for you.

Thank you all for the kind comments. Pitolove it is hard for me to imagine charging for such basic information, but I am glad that you found the free version to be useful. The only thing I ever paid for about how to use a loupe was the years of my iife I spent using one, and what a joyous price it was to have paid.

I have been so blessed to see so many beautiful things through my loupes over the years.
