On Saturday 12th Feb 2011, Oxford city centre was taken over by blue-hooded, blue faced people! They were chasing 'happiness' through the town, standing like statues in the middle of a crowded Cornmarket St, fixing people's bikes for free, giving out free G&Ds Ice cream (a special flavour I might add), singing and dancing ("If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands" etc..) and building creative signposts!
Why??
Because throughout 5th week, OICCU (the Oxford Intercollegiate Christian Union) is hosting a series of talks in the Town Hall around the theme "The Pursuit of Happiness".
Michael Ramsden, Amy Orr-Ewing, Vince Vitale and Denis Alexander will all be speaking on various topics:
Happy as I am: Who needs God anyway?
One God, many paths?
Jesus: Mad, Bad or God?
Loving God: World of Pain?
Has science buried God?
A Wasted Life: Aren't Christians missing out?
Rules, rules, rules: Restrained by religion
One man's murder and the Pursuit of Happiness
We'd love to see you there!
