Justin Hayward - Dawn of a New Day

The album is "The Eye of Wendor" by Mandalaband, and Justin was a guest vocalist for one song. The album was reissued on CD and you can still find it online.

Video Experiment Day 11: This was a challenging song to create a video for because of the tempo changes and sound blending. Listen to it at high volume to hear all of the sound effects at the beginning.

I wanted to recreate the dreamlike quality of the song visually. In the beginning you don't know exactly what you're about to hear, so I tried to mimic that by not letting the viewer know exactly what they were going to see.

I chose erratic edits and experimented with blending in an attempt to follow the mood and tempo of the song. Sometimes I followed rhythm, sometimes I followed lyrics. I wanted to create motion and challenge the viewer to pay attention rather than drift.
