My son in a booster seat flying a Cessna Cardinal C-177 at the age of 4. I had to run the rudder pedals since he couldn't reach them, but he did everything else.

  • Hey beewax1111, I don't know why I'm wasting my time on your incompetence because anyone can see the sun on the dash rising, falling and banking in response to his inputs. Also, if you knew anything about flying you would know that if you pull the throttle out you will descend but you can still fly for a very long time depending upon your altitude. The plane has a 9 to 1 glide ratio. People like you make others hesitant to share wonderful experiences.

  • The problem with this picture is the fact his dad could have a heart attack so leaving the child to land the plane. Was there another person to land the plane if anything went wrong?

  • @cjellwood

So, you don't drive down the highway with your kids in the car? What if you have a heart attack at 75mph. Besides, I'm quite confident that my kid COULD land the plane if he needed to. Finally, on another note, I'm only 35, in perfect health and ran 4 miles this morning. He's far safer in my plane with me than with someone in a car on a highway going 75 boxed in by 4 other cars, only mere feet away.

  • @bencaron01 I wouldn't say it's impossible for him to land, but the reality, I don't know if a four year old could cope with having their father pass out and not know what was going on. Or even navigate to the airfield and land. But anythings possible..haha. Just chill about these people commenting he can't fly. I'm a student pilot and will be getting my CPL and ATPL. It's not impossible for a four year old to fly. They suck in everything you teach like a sponge. Landing not sure but fly..sure

  • @waterattack He's 7 now and I have no question he can land the plane without me. But thanks for the concern. He now has almost 150 total flight hours in my plane and the majority of those are in the right seat. Cheers.

  • @cjellwood Because the doctor missed the heart problem on his last medical? My son was doing the same thing at the same age. I feel much safer in the sky than driving with the many idiots on the road!

  • @cjellwood Idiot,

  • He think is a real PlayStation! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @cjellwood 4 year old son is sitting in the back seat of Dad's car on the way to work and the same thing happens at 60mph, fairly confident the end result would be similar.

  • @bencaron01 Is this the worlds youngest instrument flyer? He'd be loving it!

  • Great video!!! I wanted to take my five year old sister flying but I feared she may too young to be up front, but it seems I'm wrong. :)

  • @cjellwood Do you have a brain sir? What of your flying alone? What if your driving a truck and have a heart attack? What if your cooking and die and the grease starts a massive apartment fire?

    Idiot.
