While filming an industrial fire in North Hamilton on March 6, 2007: CN GEVO #2223 decided to make an appearance with GE 8-40CW #2412. The train was actually holding up a relief crew of firefighters who needed to cross the tracks to get to the fire.

  • Sorry guys but according to RRpicture archives, it's a C40-8M. Search for CN 2412 on Google and it is one of the links that comes up.

  • Damn I wish I had known someone "in the know" with fire operations was there, I'd have had some questions for ya!

    cheers!

  • That would be epic if that train got included in the movie xD

  • @ljones1111 actually it's a GE C40-8M CN and BC rail owned them, EMD never made a SD60F, that was GMD GM's canadian locomotive division, they made the SD50F, SD50AF and SD60F for CN and the SD40-2F for CP

  • I recently witnessed the Cn engine number 2223 at Grimsby Via Station. To be exact no joking yesterday but i SADLY DIDN'T BRING MY CAMERA!

  • second unit is an EMD SD60F, one of the cowl units ordered almost exclusively in Canada, as they where only found on CN and CP respectively.

  • second engine isnt a CW40-8.

  • i was @ this fire that was just on teh other side of the train u can see the white smoke i was there just after L9 and R9 showed up with P6 and E6
