If you hit 50s before, you hit 500s now. It's not as ridiculous as you make it sound. And there's no way for the "newbs" to hit 50s, the max hit for them would be something like a 12. All they did was multiply hp by 10, and they are now reffered to as "life points". They did this, because it didn't make since that there was a hitpoints skill which reflected how many hits you can take before you die.

Instead, they split it up; the skill that used to be "hitpoints" is now known as "constitution", while the amount of points you have before you die is known as "life points".

To make it easier, if your "constitution" level is 99, your "life points" ar 10 times that. There is no real difference, perhaps only to the "newbs" that get excited that they can hit 12s, where the could only hit 2s before (which is still the exact same amount of damge they could hit before, just 10x).
