  • "gort" is used to refer to an older person or someone of authorative figure that may require respect, say, your boss. "wia" is "he/she/they/it" of equal or younger in age.

  • Yeah you're right! Using "wia" to someone equal or younger in age is alright but when addressing an older person it is really rude and should not be used.

  • "gay" is inclusively anyone other than the speaker in the third person. it is neither plural, nor is it singular. it doesn't necessarily mean "they" per se.

  • that's also true

  • "lohk srey" is more like "Mrs."(the reason why you would probably get punched in the mouth if you address with this!!) "neahk" is a the general word meaning "you". This word is genderless (as oppose to "lohk" which is exclusive used to address a male). "neahk" is quite formal and infrequently used. also, it is never used to address people you know e.g. family members, close friends, etc.

  • Yeah, there's so many freakn pronouns, so I just pick some of them.

  • thank you!!!! i know english a few..but i understand you!!

  • It appears that Khmer pronouns are without cases (such as the English nominative and objective case pronouns). Is that right?

  • Thank you very much. This is a very interesting lesson. // ซัวซะเด๊ย โลก บาท
