Its true sir,about the eletric car,which was featured in the american movie crazy beautiful. the reason im up so late or so early in ireland is because im on my holidays from work, and im a half vampire,and of course im watching red dwarf on you tube also first discovered your goodself on youtube.
I really must sleep now as ive been given orders to paint my kitchen tomorrow.

The biggest problem with electric cars is range and cost. If you look at the Tesla for instance it cost about $10,000 for every 25miles you can drive give or take. It performs at its cost of a $100,000 sports car but it has no range and cant be refilled as fast. Here is an idea for the times. When my remote dies for my TV I replace the batteries why cant I do that on the road at a service station with my electric car? Pay them for the charge leave the dead batteries and have a nice day.

Bad science! How does adding more energy states, and piping the electricity 100s of miles make it more efficient than burning the fuel where it's used. I'm going to watch that video now, and If I don't like the science you can bet you'll hear about it!! :P
Electric card will be popular when:
They cost no more.
They perform similarly.
They go as far.
They can be refilled as fast.
And for me, when they are as exciting.

hey just a recommendation for two books, that you may have read already, but here goes, the Last Oil Shock:( A Survival Guide to the Imminent Extinction of Petroleum Man) by David Strahan, and also Internal combustion (how corporations and governments addicted the world to oil and derailed the alternatives.) by Edwin Black. If you get the time or inclination have go at these two. They both fill in allot the blanks of why we are in the situation we find ourselves in today.

They have the ZENN (Zero Emissions No Noise) cars in Canada. They're developed in Quebec, but the province does not allow them on the road. They are allowed in B.C., but nowhere else. This world is insane.

the petrol companies need to start thinking about having charge up posts where we can pay to charge our electric cars then shouldn't they?
Its a bit like the cigarette companies who knew about cancer etc and also know how to make cigarettes that dont contain the tar but they wont because it is too expensive.
When there are no people to buy the wretched oil or ciggies, they will start wishing they had listened to the scientists but hey, it will all be too late then wont it?

A petrol or a diesel car takes 3-4 minutes to fill a tank. An electric car takes 3-4 hours!
I would sit around, waiting for my eco- friendly, electric car to charge at one of my plug sockets or however they charge them (some cars do, some cars don't), BUT a lot of people won't want to do that
Plus, like you said about wealthy people at shell and other companies wanting to change to hydrogen so that they can still get money is also a very valid point!

Actually, there is already battery technology around that can take a full charge in 15 minutes. There are ways around this problem and finally there are some really clever people with financial backing having a go at solving it. Stay tuned!

The best way to get electric cars on the scene is to persuade the rich & powerful to use them. I was looking at electric cars at the motor show, but they were all too small and ugly. If they made an electric Maybach, then I would be interested. The type of people that would use that, would be the type of people who could bring about the change you're looking for. Oh, you can get a hybrid helicopter, by the way, but there very rare.
