lol wut? that was the final boss of Faxanadu? I heard it was supposed to be devil or some such.... but that just looked like a skull with legs.

One of my favorite games, ever. Also creepy. (or was at the time)

I always used Deluge as my magic weapon to beat any boss in this game.
Deluge was simply the best magic you could have (price/quality).

@Artificialraven It's outside it. According to the map in the manual, Branch is a the branch that the meteor crashed through before landing in a body of water. At the other end of Branch, there's like a cliff or something with a castle on it and Dartmoor is in there. The real interesting thing about this game is that the final boss and the dragon guarding the Dragon Slayer were originally supposed to be swapped (the Dragon was meant to be the final boss) but they switched it for some reason.

Me too,i didn't find it that hard either.
Back then i was very patient as well and even beat hard games like contra wich are dificult like few even imagine with todays games.

I beat this game on the console without any sort of cheat

gr8 game. altho thats confused me a bit. that boss looked familiat but aint the last world the land of mist? & i dont remember getin far on it :S

I'm kinda confused about that as well. The final Place is called Dartmoor but I never figured out if it's outside or inside the world tree.
