Did you switch the controls to make flying the jet easier or did you just practice a lot to get this good with it?

@bloyear if you want to try another controls, here's how I put them: (console)

Left stick - Pitch/Roll

Right stick - Throttle/YAW

R1 - Fire

R2 - Flares

I changed them like that because that's how they were in IL-2 Sturmovik and I played that game for a long time, so I got used to that layout, it made everything easier for me in BF3
