I have a vaio vgn cs-190 and it makes a lot of annoying grinding sounds. I got he fan replaced for free while it was under warranty. But then the problem just came back . So maybe it has nothing to do with it breaking or being dirty, it is just a defect.
I was so annoyed that I decided I would not buy a vaio again. I am not impressed. I payed more to get the best quality, and I got this annoying sound. It is not worth the extra money. I think I will switch brands next time.

SONY IS A PIECE OF CRAPPP do not buy thier products!!! they sold out thier company and its in mexico or some shit n ever since then the products have been crap!

are you talking about the fan almost all of my laptops have a loud fan sound

dis fan is driving me crazy do i have to call teh agency or smthing as I'm not living in teh US ..!!! and still have warranty .. so do u think they would repair it or replace t for me T.T

i got a CS Laptop "VGN-CS21S" (pink) one year ago... and i had an exactly same sound... it was been already the customer service once... but after 3 months it coming again...;; 2years guarantee~.do i have to send my Laptop every 3rd month.T.T.;;

TO ANYONE WHO STILL HAS THIS ISSUE. Sony has acknowledged this as a known issue. Bring it in or call them up to get a replacement fan. I did this almost a year ago and still no issues since. Fan works great.
