I wrote a rather short piece for Bohlen-Pierce clarinet and MIDI keyboard, and got my cousin to play the keyboard part. It turned out well enough that I'm prepared to embark on a more ambitious work for the same ensemble!

  • Wow! This is great example of a solo BP clarinet. I love the parallel harmonies, and especially that ending chord. I posted this video to the Xenharmonic Alliance on Facebook, and it also got some good responses over there. Keep up the good work!

  • @DomeOfAtonement Thanks for sharing with the XA! I'll have to join there as it looks like a very active community.

To get familiar with BP, I've been sticking with big ol' blocky [mostly] parallel chords (in the same spirit as, say, I IV V barre chords in [rock song of your choice]). Except that BP has 6 or 7 diatonic chords of the same flavor, so it seems like a plenty broad pallet to work with, at least for a while ^_^
