  • I just realised that taekwondo is not really that physical unlike SILAT.

  • @Syafiqahboo Taekwondo can be quite physical, but what you're seeing here is Sport Taekwondo, which differs from Traditional Taekwondo.

  • @stayfly12 do you know what silat is ??

  • @aidilala1212 I'm familiar with the martial art silat, but I can't say I've ever trained in it. Perhaps in the future =)

  • I don't believe Wu hit her at 3 sec. left. Even if she did hit the opponent, it is not a 3 point kick. In this competition, back-spin hook kick on head is 4 point, front-drop kick is 3 point. Other head attacks are 2 point. At most, she can only score for 2 point. I don't get it why Wu won. The final kick is absolutely not obvious from what I can see.

    The Chinese medical person came in at 23 sec left. He use a spray to cure her. However, he is spraying on her pants. ???

  • @studiocommander All head kicks are now worth 3 points. If it's any turning kick to the head, an additional point will be rewarded making it a total of 4 points for the head kick. These were the rules being used at the World Championships 2011. "The final kick is absolutely not obvious from what I can see." Spain's coach thought the same thing and asked for a video replay after the kick, but turned out Wu's kick actually did make contact.

  • @stayfly12 Do you know of any good traditional taekwondo videos? :D

  • Now she is a true fighter.

  • execillant at the last 2 sec .

    good.

  • +++

  • They awarded a side or thrust kick??? Rare

  • @studiocommander The spray is "Cold Spray". It is absolutely useless - it's basically a placebo for the athlete. It cools the area (but just on the surface) and so the bump or bruise feels a bit numb for a few moments, but after a few seconds it goes away. For some reason all the TKD athletes love it, so it tends to work as a placebo.
