this is my pet praying mantis "Mulva" doing her thing.. you'll have to pardon her dirty critter cage. :) i was so psyched to do this in HD that i didn't clean it.. i might re-do this in the light of day and re-post or maybe i won't. and NO it's not illegal to have praying mantises in captivity.. do some research. it's an urban legend. just like bigfoot. music is "Bodies" by Drowning Pool. i thought the song fit the video.

@malebytch Well I've seen people give them raw meat, like beef or chicken... they need their proteins... You have a MANTIS, how are you not gonna give him live food?? -_____- They're meant to be vicious, they're predators, they love LIVE food!!

i have 3 females, one is pregnant with eggs and wont eat... is there any advice???

My guess is the one that is laying eggs and won't eat is about to die. That's what happened to mine and the one my brother had did the same thing. They only live 12-14 months. :( At least she's leaving a legacy behind. Try to google how to take care of those eggs. :)

i just got a praying mantis but i dun like to give live foods, what other food can i give?

I have no idea what they eat besides other bugs. I've heard of them eating small rodents and even hummingbirds and other small critters but you don't want to feed it live food so that's no help. I think you're just going to have to suffer and let mother nature do her thing. Or call your pet store and see if they have Kibbles for Mantises. :D
