@RupeeClock It's absolutely possible. It just... takes an absurd amount of time in many cases to figure out.

Haha I remember this.. I was like 6, my brother helped me to get through that stinking barrel. He took control of Tails and jumped on the barrel then told me to spindash under the barrel when the time was just right lol I need to tell him this, hes going to freak XD

the barrel is EVIL! And it comes back in SonicAdventure2!!! Except Omochao tells u that u only need to summersault to get past them.

@RupeeClock I think you miss the point of why it's important to have dialogue in the original games so as to understand the story better. However if you ever want to go through the barrel thing, all you have to do is go up and down on the control pad. See the Carnival Night Zone Short from "Sonic Shorts Volume 6."

@marioroxmysox That's up to the story teller.
The use of implicit story telling, rather than explicit dialogue leaves the story more open to interpretation and imagination, leaving the story reader to fill in the blanks.
In a simple story situation like Mario and Sonic games, when the player is left to invent their own meaning it becomes a more immersive experience.
