@jeremypender While Some Americans, myself Included, jam music like this, it is not widely listened to, to my knowledge. America is a big place though, and i am sure that there are small pockets of people who share in our joy of funky jazz. Indeed there are many people who enjoy Jazz though. I have met numerous people who enjoy the major artists such as Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Herbie Hancock. Many fewer know Freddie Hubbard, Jimmy Smith etc.

If I'm not mistaken, the lovely electric piano that closes things out here is by the late Paul Griffin (read the Wikipedia article about him). Even Lonnie can't do it all alone!
Just like Tchalla77, I was introduced to this gorgeous track by London's Robbie Vincent. Don't Americans too still listen to music like this, or is it really more of a European thing nowadays?
