Rev Peyton's Big Damn Band teaching blues - Plainfield Blues

A couple of years ago, The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band dropped by the Kansas City Academy to play for the kids and teach a bit about the history of the blues, and the particularly "country" or "rural" blues.

This clip features my personal favorite "Plainfield Blues", another song and a demonstration of the Rev's playing style.

I thought I was about done with my iPod arrangement, then I was introduced to the Rev., there's another 25 songs for the iPod. Man this band has so much energy floating around. I wish they would come out with a DVD, (garage style). I often said the blues of the early 30's and 40's couldn't be duplicated in this generation. Man, was I wrong. I LOVE THIS band!!! I heard "Worryin' Kind", and that was all it took. I just can't get enough of them.

@76HST I've got a dozen or so full concerts videotaped, and maybe at some point they'll want to release one.

I'm knocked out that they are bringing this style of blues to a generation that had no idea it existed. People forget that players like Charley Patton were playing parties, getting people to dance.
