to add the text i use 2 or more video tracks on sony vegas pro, you create the text by right clicking the blank vid track (you must put it in the blank track as putting it in the track that has your vid will cause you to get a black screen with your text over it, in the seperate track it just overlaps) then you can use the 'event pan and crop' to shift the text around the screen and animate it frame by frame.
