It all starts at BRC's Clearing Yard in Bedford Park as I watched a Wisconsin Central train depart with an SD-45. I decided to catch him again at Argo on the IHB. Argo is a major junction with connections
to the BRC to the east and the IC to the north and Santa Fe across the canal.
When I got there, there was a bit of a back up and it seemed as if every railroad from the chicago area
had a transfer to run through the junction. It was 1996, the BNSF merger had happened months before, the C&NW had been taken over by the UP and the SP was next. An SP freight was waiting to
leave, realizing this might be the last SP train I would catch going west on the old GM&O line towards Joliet I shot him at Argo and then raced to catch him at Justice IL. just to the west of here.
SP trains would use the BRC to Argo then get on the IC just North of where this was shot. This did in fact turned out to be the only tme I would see an SP train on this line. Shortly after this was shot
the UP moved traffic onto it's Ex-MP and C&NW routes. Such is railroading in Chicago.
