Members of Scentology (CCHR as well) show off their inability to handle any form of numerical statistics. They reference us war deaths and discount the civil war almost entirely.
It's sad really. Cancer, smoking, hospital errors, starvation even TB kill more people a year than the claimed death toll they're toting. Worse yet their huge number is nearly the same as the total violent deaths in Iraq since that war started.
I find myself wondering if the simply left out the confederate death toll when they did their half baked calculations. qualification of any of their numeric statistics would have been nice.
As I've shown previously, the numbers they've used have been shown to be flawed, altered, or just plain deceptive, Once again this number is not given any reference or certification. However the number itself is irrelevant in light of the context. The number represents government research grants, hospital earnings, private practices, all the money made by all of these through out the entire world. However without providing some form of criteria, who knows where this figure came from? Does it include the psychiatric drug industry? Naturally no information is provided.
The deliberate manipulation is displayed clearly by their manner in witch the reference psychiatrists as a generality. It doesn't state as a whole, or anything along these lines. It is easily assumed that they're talking about the entirety of the field, however in stating psychiatrists make this about of money, it could mean individually as well.
Although logic would clearly show that it's not stating that each shrink makes that amount, it is clearly intended to help promote their conspiratorial views, and imply great wealth, which implies greed. This is part of the psychological warfare employed by CCHR throughout their presentation.
If this figure is accurate is it the fault of psychiatry? Is it the fault of the drug companies? Or is it more accurately resultant of our societal need for quick fixes instead of learning to deal with, and overcome, our problems? Or are the insurance companies, which will cover psychiatric medication but not proper therapy, part of the problem? Blaming the psychiatric industry for problems indigenous to the societies in which we live hardly seems justifiable.

@13Heathens 'At the time this video was made - 3 years ago - ' I had substantial well researched notes.' Yeh... apart from the fact you ignored a simple google search that I found easily, that showed 'research' from data from 1995. That proved you were totally wrong again! Of course your 'research' that did not back you up.... was conveniently 'forgotten' Who are you trying to kid? Only the stupid!!!

@Mrscientificmethod "you may say you had substantial well researched notes..but did you?"
Yes, I did and I required a minimum of 3 independent sources prior to using any info.

@13Heathens Sorry but this information has been available since 1995. You may say you had substantial well researched notes..but did you?

@Mrscientificmethod "your stats are wrong"
Provide proper certification.

@13Heathens But your stats are wrong. Just admit it.... even tho it was three years ago.

@Mrscientificmethod It's been 3 years.. if I still had the certifications I'd provide them, but I do recall that I triple checked nearly everything - legitimate psyche ward death stats I couldn't find. If CCHR had correlated their statistics with psyche care instead of wards I would have had less of an objection in the first place.

@13Heathens OK the pentagon is right. I am therefore wrong. ;-)

@Mrscientificmethod "the facts disclosed by the CCHR are correct. You are wrong"
At the time this video was made - 3 years ago - I had substantial well researched notes. I used the statistics held by the pentagon for the war deaths. I also discovered the agency allegedly provided the psychiatric death stats. Said organization informed me they they do not now, nor have they ever maintained statistics.

You may also want to investigate the number of psychiatric drugs given in old peoples homes in the UK which has resulted in many deaths... another google search on this may show the scale of the problem. Therefore the CCHR figures are more credible that your beliefs. Yes?

Despite your incredulity over the statistics these figures come from the 1995 Funk & Wagnalls World Almanac. (not a scientology magazine but maybe you want to think so. ) A simple google search was sufficient.... The numbers of those who died in American wars are only those counted who died from enemy fire and does not include deaths from illness etc... which pre antibiotic treatment was quite considerable. So the facts disclosed by the CCHR are correct. You are wrong.

during my time in $cientology I also noticed that they make no difference in 'psychology' and 'pschiatry', they just HATE anything with 'Psych' in it and usually can't even explain the difference.
Of course the statistics are fake just like all of the propoganda in $cientology.
Dianetics is a 'best seller', yeah...wonder why?
Great video, keep 'em coming matey....arghhhh
