PART 2 of 2. These 2 parts are both a brief overview of Biblical Slavery in the Torah and a response to some comments made by YT user, "Wineisyourfriend". I really tried to keep this to one video but I couldn't and still say most of the things I wanted to say. Originally my complete response was over 17 minutes long. I managed to cut it down to 12 or 13 minutes.

  • im sorry bro, it seems like your doing the classic "it says what it says, but doesn't mean what it means."

  • @freethinker3161, and with respect you are pulling the ole, "apply modern American understanding to words and passages and completely ignore the way the passages have been historically understood by those who actually lived during that time period". Also, one has to deal with the fact that WIYFs understanding completely contradicts the other scriptures in the immediate conext. Verses 12,14&16 have to be ignored to come up with that interpretation. Continued...

  • @FT3161, continued... You see if one lifts this single verse out from it's historical and grammatical context and then applies his own meanings to the words, well, we can make any verse what we want and then cry, "foul". Also, if I have abused the historical and grammatical contexts, please demonstrate HOW I have done that.

  • You will see what you want to see. You interpretations simply wouldn't convince anyone who isn't religios.

I hope living a lie is making you happy. I am really happy being atheist.

I wish life was as simple as believing all the answers are in one single book.

  • The proper interpretation is that people can misinterpret and justify bad actions using this passage.
