Winter, 1941. World War II rages on as Nazi troops invade the Soviet Union and quickly besiege Leningrad. Though foreign journalists are evacuated, Kate Davies (Mira Sorvino) is accidentally left behind, alone in this famished city until she is befriended by Nina Tsvetkova, a Leningrad militia woman, and two Russian children. Together they fight for survival, surrounded by death, starvation and the bullets of war.

  • Terribly disappointed that this doesn't have anything to do with Snake Plissken...

  • My dad is the director of this movie...do you like it?

  • @SpectatorAlius Have you forgotten on Bloody Sunday? Innocence killed, even children. All I say is that Russia is in an even worse place than it was previously.

  • @Laluush Bad as belief in Rasputin was, belief in Communism was much, much worse. Lenin killed in a few days more than the last Tsar killed in years.

  • @MarcusCMarcellus I am not defending Stalin or Trosky, just Lenin and the brief period where he made a fucking difference by ending Czar Nicholas II and his idiotic beliefs on Rasputin

  • @AntagonisticEnemy you payed attention to me.

  • @Stargate404 That is not a hard figure. There is evidence for anything between 20-40; I picked 30.

  • @Laluush Because Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin killed them, that's why we can't ask them.

  • @MarcusCMarcellus 20 million that stalin murdered not 30, but you do have a point, This is AMerica and I wish they would stop making Michael Moore movies

  • @MarcusCMarcellus Look at all the former countries controlled by the Motherland. Where are they? They are fighting each other because there is no government that does anything. Ask any former Soviet how things where before and how they are now. The history books are only written by the corrupt government, not the people who lived there in that time.

  • @Laluush Your naivete could fill an encyclopedia. You embarrass yourself.
