i'm never sure about warlikowski [his "hamlet" or his "streetcar", for example], but kwiecien certainly carries this scene trimuphantly!

To w Paryżu było przede wszystkim spalone muzycznie- skandaliczna inscenizacja była pójściem na łatwiznę. W partyturze ta opera jest wspaniała (pomijając libretto). Dla Kwietnia warto było to zobaczyć.

Leave it to the French to make it into a salacious pot-pourri.Too bad the graphics extrapolated the whole idea behind the work into the "Disney`s Magic Kingdom" circle.

One of the best shows I've seen in years, with Mariusz Kwiecien absolutely SMASHING (best role of his life?!), plus a magnificently sung Shepherd by Eric Coutler, Roxana by Olga Pasychnik and a superb Stefan Margita. Add to that Kazushi Ono conducting with a surgical precision, you get the top notch interpretation of this amazing work by Szymanowski. K.Warlikowski divided the crowd: everyone either loved or hated his staging, but no one remained indifferent. Hope for a DVD any time soon!

I nic dziwnego, że wybuczeli ten chłam. Gdyby reżyser tego czegoś zaprezentował swoją "oryginalną" wizję bez podpierania się cudzą muzyką to pies z kulawą nogą by na to nie przyszedł. Na sczęście kiedyś wszyscy zapomną o tym spektaklu i panu reżyserze a muzyka Szymanowskiego przetrwa.
