George Peppard played a bohemian well before making "What's So Bad About Feeling Good?" He loved playing roles that were not the norm. He enjoyed a role that was different. At this time, George himself, was quite the bohemian. He had lived in Greenwich Village among the artists, writers, and beatnik philosophers of his time. This was familiar territory to George. So here he is... The young and handsome George Peppard in rare footage from his first major starring role, in "The Subterraneans" with his co-star, Leslie Caron. • He was not a professional dancer; Leslie Caron was a ballet dancer. Yet George was able to match her so well in their slow dance sequence. Passion and feeling was felt in their their performances.

The 1950s beatnik generation were the original rebels, before the hippie movement in the 60s. George stayed a rebel the rest of his life, living life his way. choosing his roles; different, deep, reflective characters. Thank you for your excellent comments!

  • Great video. "Romantic rebel" is a well-taken title. I love "The Subterraneans". A nice story about the rebelling young generation of the 60ies in San Francisco. It's about love, misgiving, surching, heartache and happiness. Both George Peppard and Leslie Caron were great on it. Nice original jazz music by Andre Previn, wonderful choreography. George and Leslie were perfect match.

  • Caro George, passano gli anni ma il tuo ricordo e' sempre vivo nel mio cuore, non smettero' mai di amare il tuo sorriso ed i tuoi occhi che mi donano tanta gioia. George for ever...............

  • George Peppard has an intensity that comes across in his films, and you can tell what he is feeling, thinking, even when he has no dialogue. And he has the most incredibly blue eyes...very very sexy man.

  • Ma quanto eri bello Tesoro Mio! Eri la dolcezza e il fascino fatti a persona, non ci sarà nessun altro al mondo bello e bravo come Te!!!!!!!
