Change Rocks event for Obama
Bryce Jordan Center
Penn State University
State College, PA
10-13-08

Obama's message:
For twenty months, Ive been traveling this country from town to town-even developing a Touch of Grey of my own. And on that journey, Ive seen Americans who are hurting under the politics and policies of Washington. They need change, and I am running for President to bring about that change.

On November 4th, youll get to make a choice between two different candidates with two dramatically different visions for our future. Youll get to choose which direction you want to take our country. I believe that now is the time to put Americans back to work and rebuild our middle class; to live up to the promise of affordable health care for everyone; to guarantee a quality education for all our children; to end our dependence on Middle East oil; and to bring this war in Iraq to a responsible end. We can do all that. And on November 5th, I hope to announce that we Aint Wasting Time No More.

  • The Dead (with Jerry as well) have always been on the Democratic side of the line. Is that a surprise to anyone? It's always been about the music anyway.

I think they are sounding great right now. Lots of energy. I will have to check them out on Spring Tour.

  • they are sounding good right now....going to see them again in may in philly!

  • SPRING TOUR!!!!!

  • too bad the tickets are 110 or something...

  • @biggie440 i'd pay that much to see them.....and why does it cut out right before they talk about getting raided? Did they play the whole song or did obama campaign not let them?

  • @tyikiki101 they played the whole song. actually, when they played they turned on the house lights at one point and they didn't skip a beat...kept right on playing. they jammed out for a while, it was a good show considering it was the first time playing together in a few years...

  • this was my first dead show long story short, , when i was on some bangin family L and i saw obama pop up ..i knew i was in for a trip!

  • @rawkus1167 I wonder if the band is happy now?

  • How the F*** would Jerry be turning his grave? You really think if Jerry was alive today he would support a McCain/Palin ticket? Use your head man before you post stupid-ass shit that makes you look foolish. And that goes for all of you that are hating on the boys for doing these shows to raise awareness...great great rock bands have been doing that forever, it just happens to be the first time the Dead has. Man you old hippies need a life. Esp. the ones that are Republican...haha

  • Well put

  • i can see both sides of it. what it comes down to is they want this country to a better place just like the rest of us

  • I just lost a lot of respect for these guys! A rock concert should be just that, not a lousy politcal rally. (of any kind)

  • your old enough to know better. politics .. sheesh. that's the OPPOSITE of fun , last time I checked
