How about this angle?

Amtrak's Maple Leaf, (Amtrak 64) with P42DC #124 passes Tonawanda NY

I filmed the horn so you can skip to 1:32 for the train going over

  • The bridge and horn blast were great ... and by 90 seconds I was sure it was a ghost train... Good video...

  • Yeah it took a while thanks!

  • coool! i that counter weight is huge compared to those cars! sweet looking bridge and sweet looking train. good video!

  • yeah thanks!

  • I like the angle! Looking at the bridge at this angle, it's a bit difficult to tell how big the train will be with respect to the bridge until it goes over. I found that pretty neat.

The locomotive's unit number is 124. Also, that K-5LA horn sounds almost exactly like one of the AMTK K-5LAs in my video of horn sounds from Darien Lake. Maybe it's the same locomotive.

  • Yeah Maybe, and thanks!

  • @steven8979 the counterweight's hollow there's 2 big swinging doors on the top of it they only open from the outside though we found that out because me and my friends found a skeleton in there but we told the cops and it was HUGE. but there's a couch and everything inside of it

  • My grandfather retired in the 50's with what was then Penn Central,my dad & uncles worked on the RR at one time or another. They lived on Tremont by the hospital (where my sorry ass was brought in this world) we visited from Tonawanda/Amherst late 60's or so & went right to this trestle (we were little kids) & get freaked out being on it & hearing a train coming, being over the canal made it intense, been in a burb of Chicago for 31 yrs & still a distant train horn makes me think of NT
