@igystrvigy Again, Moore never advocated taking 100% of anyone's wealth. Such an idea would be ludicrous on the face of it. Since that isn't what he wants to do, does this mean you don't object?
@eirefrance The government can confiscate 100% of the wealth from the richest Americans and it will run the government for about a week. That is what's wrong with Moore's idiotic stance. Do you understand that? Is that so difficult?
@igystrvigy No, you're the king of putting words in other people's mouths. Like Moore, for instance. I'm trying to figure out what your objection to his point is, which is why I'm asking you to clarify.
@eirefrance You are the king of putting words into another's mouth! But it's easy to see how disingenuous it is in this written medium. The richest 10% in this country already pay 70% of the federal tax revenue. And nearly 50% don't pay anything at all but receive much. This is the vote pump—the purchasing of votes by politicians by the promising of entitlements.
@igystrvigy Ah, so you don't mind paying the state's debt. So you don't believe the rich should have to pay any money towards it? Is that the problem? Who should pay for it?
@eirefrance I wrote nothing to suggest that paying the state's debt is a bad thing. It needs to be done. Austerity must come to the entitlement system in the US. It might be a little painful now, but if it get's like Greece it will be devastating.
@eirefrance It does follow that if we don't pay the debt the interest will continue to accrue. Congrats! Now, where in my comment did I say that we shouldn't pay the debt? I never said such a stupid thing. I was commenting on your irrelevant comment about getting Moore's words right. There might have been some slight differences between the quote and the original statement, but it did not distort Moore's proposition: to take money from the rich to pay the country's debts—an IDIOTIC idea.

@igystrvigy Well, you said that Moore wants to "pay the state's debt" like it was a bad thing. What was I to think?

@igystrvigy So you believe we shouldn't pay the national debt? Doesn't that mean we will just keep accruing interest and the debt will get bigger?
eirefrance 1 week ago
@eirefrance Either way, Moore advocates taking money from the rich to pay the bloated state's debts.
