One of the underrated movies ever. We see Michael Wilding walking to house was later reused in Psycho. Its the scene where Vera Miles walks to the house of Norman Bates

  • Konway, NOT the same house used in "Psycho". This was filmed at Warners' British studio, in Teddington. "Psycho" was filmed at Universal in Burbank, CA.

  • @edwardjames50 I wasn't actually talking about the house. I was talking about the similarity in shots in Under Capricorn and Psycho.

  • So, like the "Spookyfish" episode of South Park, or "Mirror, Mirror" in the original Star-Trek series?

Everyone's got an evil twin from a parallel universe, and the only thing that makes them distinguishable is facial hair or lack thereof?

  • Each Character are there for a purpose. Long time ago, Someone wrote a brilliant info about Sam Flusky - His crippling inferiority complex dictates everything he does. Sometimes he's unaware of his cruelty, believing himself to be doing the right thing; at others it's as if he can't help himself. He's a man who constantly tries to do good things, yet at every turn he's thwarted either by his own secret past, or his fear of that past. This conflict is written on his every gesture and expression.

  • It should be in my mailbox today from Netflix, I've tried watching this before, but was always expecting a thriller. I'm going into it this time knowing it's a drama and a period piece. I love Hitch's vision and he remains my favorite director of all time.

Mentioning that the French like it isn't always a selling point for me... Jerry Lewis anyone?

  • Playwright James Bridie wrote the screenplay for this film. He was very good in character connections. A Hitchcock fan wrote this about Under Capricorn "Hitchcock shows Ingrid Bergman and her rival (Margaret Leighton) with a most empathising subtility, there is a strict and mirror-like duality among the characters, everybody seems to be the exact counterpart of the other (something like a photograph and the negative)."

  • @edwardjames50 Hahaha ... You need not be upset as if I insulted your mother or you ... though most people that visit your account do so :)

Please read: Great quality for an upload of a 1949 film.

Best regards -- though there are apparently no friends around you :(

  • One of the worse Hitch films. Nevertheless, great quality for a 1949 film

I don't know who deleted my comment but as far as I remember I only said that THIS YouTube video is of good quality as most uploads are not ..... but I didn't comment on the director, the actors of that era or the plot of this film, did I?

    Best regards
