Space is big. Neptune and Uranus are both more than 4 times the diameter of the Earth. Jupiter is almost 1,400 times the volume of the Earth and the Sun is more than 1,300,000 million times the volume of the Earth. The Sun is an average fine tuned but small star, meening the average star would be several times as big as the Sun. The Moon is about 31 1/2 Earths away yet it takes light just under two seconds to travel that distance. The Sun is almost 8 1/2 light minutes away from the Earth.

lets do the universe a favor and blow ourselves up.

@bobcrunch you didn't set anyone straight on the first example. it doesn't really matter what the purpose of the sacrifice was. he could've sacrificed jesus to put an end to dinosaurs but the fact remains, that was a human sacrifice. and besides, for a god who shuns murder and who is omnipotent, you'd think he would step back and find another solution to saving mankind than breaking one of his own rules commandments. and i never said god's sacrifice of jesus was a glorification to himself

@beholdfateknocks The “sacrifice” of Jesus was not made to glorify God, but to save humanity. No serious moral thinker has ever suggested that the death of Jesus was a glorification of God. It was a gift to humanity. Jesus knew this and went willingly. John 3:16 continues to stand for the hope of huminity.
Let me know of other examples that you call “sacrifice” and I’ll set you straight.

@bobcrunch john 3:16, thats where i got it from. well, the human sacrifice bit. you can find genocide in almost all of the old testament.

@beholdfateknocks You've made some very serious charges about God. I've refuted your assertions. It's now time for you to back up your accusations. I challenge your assertions that God has committed human sacrifice or genocide. Where do you get your wisdom? From the New York Times editorial page?

@beholdfateknocks my last message was a lil too long to include this. but yes.. p.s. i did not clarify anything, i simply repeated the question.

@bobcrunch and of course ole dostoy says this because god provides absolute morality. well, human sacrifice, even if only commited once, is either immoral by god's own admission and/or god's law is not absolute. you can take your pick. The old testament, and this is no small secret, clearly portrays a god that has no problem with genocide. I'm aware you just admitted that but i can't drive that point home enough. I would also beg to differ that it was a one time deal.
Beautiful and humbling. I love the music too. Reminds me of watching the cosmos for the first time (for obvious reasons). I wish I could get in on soundtrack!
Nice video : )

@Tralman1965 I don't want to start a debate here, but I'm pretty sure I'd treat others the way I want to be treated without people in funny dresses telling me to. Thanks for watching though!
