  • Actually if you are on APS-C (as the 300 is) the 100-200 f/4.5 is a better choice.

    -cheaper

    -lighter

    -sharper at f/5.6, equal at f/8

    Well the advantage in all points is minor over the 70-210 f4.5.

    But with beercan you pay for the name or the hype (oops I said it)...

  • Well it's F4, so it's not the best in low light. I have the minolta F1.5 50mm which is better for low light indoor photography.

  • Recently bought this lens on ebay and must admit, my copy at least, really lives up to the hype and the legend behind it, very sharp especially when stopped down and the focal range and colours are perfect for my type of photography, sports and nature and even the occasional landscape shot
