Good to see that you're still at it.
Does having 4 sound holes in the face of the dulcimer really make a difference as opposed to having 2, one high and one low on the body?

A 2 hole dulcimer is actually often a little bit louder, however a 4 hole dulcimer (at least in my opinion) generally sounds a little bit more smooth. A lot of people who make there own CD's that I have talked to say they prefer a 2 hole dulcimer just because of the extra sound they get when recording. In the end though it all comes down to personal preference, and one is not really better then the other.
