Poor Cora. Julian Fellowes, in keeping with tradition to put the Countess of Grantham through some form of heartbreak in Downton finales, decided to send her to her sick bed for the entire episode. The bastard. Nevermind, watch the brilliant Elizabeth McGovern suffer with equally wonderful Siobhan Finneran

  • I wish they'd had a scene when they realised she was going to make it. Think it would have been a nice contrast to Lavinia and given Elizabeth a little bit more screen time.

  • @NinEstarNimthiriel I know, I am sick of Elizabeth, Oscar nominated actress, taking a back seat. She's fantastic.

  • In an hour and half special of Downton. Elizabeth had about 6 minutes of screen time.

  • I was so glad Cora pulled through. She's my favourite character on the show. I glad to see the back of Jane though. I couldn't believe that Robert was considering cheating although it was strange that he chose a girl who looked like a younger, less pretty version of his wife.

  • I want to see more of Cora! She needs a big storyline!

  • 'If you're turning American on me, i'll go downstairs.'

    LOL!

I think Downton is one of the best shows ever to air in this country!!!!

  • Dear God, where's some Gravol and Tylenol when you need it.

Could have done without the laboured breathing though, not being able to breathe freaks me out so much! O_O

  • @audgeyp O'Brien thought Cora was planning to fire her when she was really trying to find a new housemaid for Violet. When Cora was taking a bath, O'Brien left a bar of soap on the floor (on purpose) and Cora slipped getting out, which caused her to lose her baby (I don't see the correlation). Then Cora got sick and O'Brien felt guilty about it because Cora said she was so good to her.

  • What did O'Brien mean when she told Cora she did something she bitterly regretted?

  • A stellar performance by Ms. McGovern, I would have been so sad if they had let her die! Its just horrific that we have to wait until sep. 2012 before we will get more DA!!!

  • Poor Cora .. Lord did she suffer.

Elizabeth is a fantastic in the role.

  • @morrisoniice Yeah but the affair was so out of character that it was quite hard to believe. I just fast forward those scenes when I watch season 2.
