Stickers to cover up spills on your shirt. A skirt that expands into a kayak. Oversized drawers that stack to the ceiling. A handbag shaped like a severed head. These are just a few of the innovative and unique designs by Israeli designers Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay. Now based in London, Mer and Alkaly combine their training from the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem with their understanding of the international design scene. The result is a range of fantastical and practical works that are both design-savvy and fashion forward.
