3 Brothers, 3 Friends, 1 Love: Chapter 10 Part 1

Riley's POV

Kevin called asking to meet up with us all today as it was urgent. We agreed to meet up at Rita's Shake's which was about 10 minutes away. Myself, Hayley and Carson arrived together - late of course, blame Carson - she decided that her eyeliner wasn't thick enough. When we got there we spotted the boys through the back hidden behind menu's. We walked over and sat with them. They had already ordered some shake's so we sipped on them quietly waiting to hear what they had to say.

"Next week we are leaving to continue the tour." Kevin blurted.

We all stopped sipping and I swear Hayley did a spit take with the chocolatey froth in her mouth.

"What?" she asked.
"The tour moves on from California next week and we have to finish up." Kevin explained.

I soon realised that this was basically just breaking the news to Hayley and the rest of us were there for moral support. We sat there feeling awkward as none of us would become effected by this except Hayley and Kevin.

"We'll still see each other right?" Hayley asked.
"Totally. And we can talk on the phone every night and I'll even send you tickets for some of our shows." Kevin explained to her.

When he mentioned talking on the phone her face lit up. She knew everything was going to be alright.

"I have a great feeling about this Kevin." she smiled.
"Me too." He put his arm around her and kissed her forehead.

They drifted off into their own personal conversation so I decided to talk with Nick.

"So, how are things going with Miley?" I asked in what I thought was a casual way.
"Great I suppose. I haven't seen her much as she's been practising for her tour, but when I do we always hang out and have fun."
"Great. I'm so happy for you guys." I smiled falsly.

I couldn't be less happy! But of course I couldn't tell Nick that. He thought I was the best friend ever!

Out of the corner of my eye I could see Joe trying to strike up a conversation with Carson.

"So, seen much of Trey recently?"
"Yeah actually. He took me to a drive-in movie the other night."
"Ohh." he said clearly disapointed.

It was painful to watch. Joe was totally love struck with Carson but she completley ignored him. Of course being a girl and one of Carson's close friends I could tell she liked him. She would never admit it though. This could go on for years and she may never admit it. Then my mind drifted back to Nick. He was leaving on tour and I wouldn't see him.

"Nick, will we stay in touch?" I asked.
"Of course. We're best buds."

I couldn't help but cringe when he said 'best buds'. First of all, who says that? Second I hated being his bud. I wanted to be his girl and for him to think of me when he writes a song. Miley was one lucky girl and hopefully she knew how special Nick was.

Kevin's POV

It was hard breaking the news to Hayley. We'd only just started dating and I prayed she'd be fine with me leaving. I know we can make it through the tour if we try. I feel a special connection with her unlike any other girl I've dated. She's different.

"Hayley, want to spend the rest of the day together?" I asked, obviously knowing the answer.
"I'd love to!" she beamed.

We left the others and drove to the mall.

"Kevin, how do you plan on getting inside. It's totally obvious who you are."
"You haven't seen my clever disguise box which I keep in the trunk." I smiled.

I hoped out the car and searched through the overly stuffed box full of different costumes. I decided on a pair of huge square glasses, suspenders, a bow tie and of course a baseball cap.

"Nice look." she smiled.

We walked inside arm in arm and I felt like the luckiest guy alive. Of course Hayley looked as if she was with some random nerd but I knew she was loving it.
