Oh I know the media is rediculous. But Nick, think about it, they are talking about whatever they believe Americans want to hear about, whatever they believe will get them ratings. And being the media, they probably know what people are interested in. Bringing us to the conclusion that it's the public that's sad, the media is just a reflexion of the public. Proud to be an American!
