The Chevy Corvette doesn't use an actual "key" to lock and unlock its doors. So how to you get into a Corvette when the battery dies?

The C6 Corvettes use a fob that contains a key within it. If your Corvette battery dies, simply remove the key from within the fob device and insert it into the keyhole above the license plate panel at the rear of the car. Turn the key to unlatch the trunk, where you will find a cable on the left side of the trunk interior that you can pull to open the driver side car door.

How do you get out of a Corvette with a dead battery?

Help avoid this potentially embarrassing situation by knowing how to get out of your own car! There is a lever that you can pull on the driver side floor on the left side of the seat that will open the door for you. It may sound simple, but you wouldn't want to be trapped in a hot Vette in the summer yelling for help!

  • ight so say like you use the crap out of yer corvette and like 5 or so years later yew try to cold start it but it doesnt use a key? so what yew pump the gas and push a button? lmao

  • i like the new key for the Corvette

  • @Andrewjcm Corvettes are crap? Is that why the 2012 ZR1 has a 7:19 on the Nurburgring, and the Z06 has a 7:22? Hmmmmmm maybe you should learn something before you speak.

  • nice shades, pal.....lol

  • @Andrewjcm us news has it as # 2...and rated by the consumer...i.e. the people that own the damn things...they rate number 1 in customer satisfaction...you do some research

  • @dereklsept I'm about as ignorant as the manufacturers were when they decided to not put keyholes on a car.

Also, before you start making claims, you should do some research, prefferably about "Most Reliable sports car" on google. The porsche 911 was rated the best car by J.D Power while Corvette was among the worst cars in CNN's best and worst five sports cars.

  • @Andrewjcm corvettes rate as the most reliable of sports cars and are probably among the most reliable cars overall as well.....the manufacturer kept keyholes out of the doors for aesthetics...and it looks good...your ignorance is astounding

  • Seems like the manufacturers realized "Oh shit, the battery goes dead often, we should put in a safety measure so people can get out of our crappy cars"
