Becoming Reality Chp 30: Tragedy? Part 2

Devon's P.O.V. (cont'd)

"Can you?" I asked, I wasn't going to be able to tell everyone after I just finished telling Joe unless they wanted me crying again for another half hour.
"Of course," Joe said as he climbed out of the bunk.
"You'll come back right after right? I need you," I said. I didn't want to be alone right now.
"Of course. You know I'll always be there for you. I'll be back in a minute," he said and I could see the concern in his eyes, he really did care.
A few minutes later Joe climbed back into my bunk and pulled me close to him again just as though he had never left. I let a few more tears escape, but for the most part we just sat there in silence. Joe was perfect, I was so lucky that he was my boyfriend, I don't know what I would do if I didn't have him. Joe was the perfect boyfriend and he was mine, I wasn't going to let him go.
"Thank you," I said.
"For what?" Joe asked slightly confused.
"For just sitting here with me and not making me say anything, it's just what I needed," I explained.
"No problem," Joe replied smiling at me.
"I love you," I said.
"I love you too," Joe told me. "Don't worry, everything's going to be fine," he said giving me a kiss.
"Thanks," I said. "I think I need to take a shower."
"Ok," Joe said as I left. I took one of the longest showers I think I have ever taken, letting myself calm down. I was still in shock about what I had learned and knew that I wouldn't be able to rest easily until the surgery was over and my grandfather was fine. The hot water calmed me and when I got out I finally felt calm and like I could talk about what happened without bursting into tears.

i'm rly upset about the nationals results... evan came in 3rd :( but johnny came in 5th so he doesn't go to worlds haha (yes im mean i know)
