The disassembly video of a Thinkpad R60. It only goes as far as removing the Fan, because that is all that I needed it for. For more information, visit the Lenovo Service site.

http://www.lenovoservicetraining.com/ion/ThinkPad%20R60/index.html

I can't access that site on my iphone because it doesn't have a recent Flash player, and I can't use my computer because thats what I'm disassembling.

I did not create these videos, just captured them to put on Youtube so I could view it from a non-PC device.

  • Thank you very much. My friend has a T60 model which he wanted me to replace the fan assembly. Since the T60 and R60 are so much alike, I followed you instruction and was able to replace the fan assembly successfully. Cheers.

  • @garicx Your welcome. Though I didn't make the video myself, Lenovo did. But I had a hard time accessing them from their Tech support site, so I posted a copy here for quicker access.

And I figured since its helped other people, I might as well just leave it up until further notice.

  • Im jelaous, my laptop has such crappy cooling design, the heatsink wich is on the GPU doesn't connect to the fan, and i hat to stack copper tabs for it to touch the aluminium on the case...

  • @jimjamx Sounds good. Thanks! These laptops are getting older and older, so having instructions on how to open it would save people money when they try to replaced broken parts. Cheers.
