Eight hundred people on Vancouver Island have joined a nation-wide class action suit demanding compensation for what they allege was abuse at Indian day schools.
Former students from West Saanich to Port Hardy say they were subjected to the same kind of abuse that residential students. But until now, they say they've been ignored.
Despite the fact they were allowed to go home at night, former Indian day school students are alleging abuse, and they want recognition and compensation.
