  • Baldfalski crossed over the wrong way when skating backwards & that was the slight opening Staalsy needed to blow past him & hold him off with his big frame. This goal defines Gronks career & changed the momentum & dynamic of the game. The Wings had the lead & back to back pp's but yielded a game tying shorthanded goal to a guy who had 7 shortys in his rookie year. Staal finally scored a bigtime goal in a bigtime game at a crucial moment. Staal = the Pens top penalty killer!

  • SWEEEET! Pittsburgh is winning the next 2 games.

  • i get chills watching this, its amazing! lets go pens!

  • it would have been so insane to be at this game. look at the fans when Staal scores. absolutely nuts.

  • Love My Pens!!! <3 #71

  • I would love to hear this goal called by Gary Thorne. Just to hear it.

  • I remember saying to my brother as we watched the game after Malkin's breakaway shorthanded, "If the Penguins get a shorthanded goal here, that would change the whole tide of the series. However, it's unlikely the Pens will get another chance."

Seemed like half a second later Jordan Staal headed down the ice to change the whole complexion of the series.

  • rafalski was definately in quicksand on this play.. he didn't have a very good finals

  • The goal that turned the tide.

  • He is underrated, yes, but he could have prevented that goal.

  • Jordan Staal told reporters that he noticed that Rafalski and Lidstrom were both flat-foot when he took the pass, so he just turned on the jets and scored the goal that probably single handledly turned the Stanley Cup Finals around for the Penguins.
