ya i dont think he is hitting vtec... do to having a check engine light on, u dont get vtec when ur throwing codes. but try double poping the throttle next time for the down shift alit easier on motor.

@GWARRIOR1975 Alpha Romeo was running variable valve timing way before Honda, although theirs was mechanical and not electrical. Even some of the really old radial aircraft engines from the 1920s had a form of variable valve timing. So Honda didn't really invent it, they just had the first the first electronically actuated system in mass production engines.

To all the haters of the vtev, if you truly call yourself a gear head head you must respect Honda in the technology behind the vtec system. You don't have to like Honda (I don't) but I do respect them for what they have accomplished with this system and where it was first used. In closing if you hate it, it just means you don't understand it!
