What a disgraceful act. To pull away a highly trained first responder away from an injured victim just because he was insuring the safety of everyone on scene. What the fire captain did was standard protocol in regards to safety. The so called officer should be fired for this!

this "cop" is a disgrace to the force, pulling a guy away from helping an accident victim, complete bastard

I think way more people respect fire fighters over law enforcement.. what you guys think?

@proby340 the injured is on the shoulder lane. the officer had the right lane blocked. the fire truck did not add any more saftey to the scene. chance of a car slowing down and then make a sharp right turn into the scene is a very rare. besides, the officers are also concern about their own safety too and still thought the truck should move to lane 1. closing all lanes of the freeway in both directions for an injury that's on the shoulder is excessive even for saftey, for instance.

The cop doesn't give a damn about the victim or anyone's safety. Steroid-rage-boy was on an ego trip, nothing more. Glad he was forced to cough up money to the firefighter.

@MohammadX101 you obviously have no insight on how often emergency personnel are injured on high speed highways such as that one. A police cruiser provides little to no protection, as it is the same size as other vehicles on the road.Closing down the second lane will create a traffic jam which aids in the safety of all emergency personnel on the scene. The captain did everything right, the officer did everything wrong. There is no such thing as excessive when it comes to safety.

fuckin cops and their powertrips!! that "officer" was just pissed cuz he didn't get his way... what a big baby... good for you fireman...

I think I would rather have a big red truck to protect my people the a chincy cop car on a busy highway. This cop was thinking one sided.

@MohammadX101 It doesn't matter how badly traffic gets backed up if there are four lanes on a highway and there is a major accident two of the lanes are supposed to be blocked off. And besides the officers vehicle wasn't providing any safety because it wasn't even near the vehicle.
This is why people have no respect for police officers.............

The Captain told the engineer to stage the engine there on purpose to protect the rescue crew from traffic getting too close, and for quick access to extrication tools. That police officer probably lost his badge, (or is now a parking meter attendant) over this ordeal for safety violations, and interfering with the rescue/EMS operation on top of that. This is an example of what happens when you get someone on a power trip with a gun, & a badge.
