You're watching Part 1 of the very first episode of Movieology! Today's episode is a bit unusual as we are covering 10 films instead of our regular format of 1 movie per episode - which also accounts for the lengthened duration. Today we take a step back and reflect on the best films of 2010 and discuss the nominees for the Best Picture Academy Award. When such films as Black Swan and The Kids Are All Right are on the docket, how are Christians to respond? Is it possible to enjoy a film but disagree with its worldview? Joseph & Stewart tackle this topic and more as they give their favorites of the year and review the 10 Best Picture nominees: 127 Hours, Black Swan, The Fighter, Inception, The Kids Are All Right, The King's Speech, The Social Network, Toy Story 3, True Grit, and Winter's Bone.

I agree with most everything you said but the "Black Swan" was done by one of the visionary directors of all time (Darren Aronfsky). despite the mature theme the movie was brilliant. It had no problem showing the dark emontional aspect of each character the plot was good, the acting was fenominal and despite a few faults the movie deserved nothing less then to be nominated for best picture.

Re: 127 -- Well guys, why would they mention about his faith/spiritually? He was actually alone. And, if God was there with him why didn't he warn him or help him so he didn't have to cut his arm off?
