Band formed by Sao Paulo' s guitarist, Marcelo Munhoz, in 2002 to be an alternative in the Brazilian music scene. Munhoz incorporated in his work elements of samba, groove, and Brazilian samba-rock (a combination of soul, funk, and samba fusion) from the 60s and 70s, all of which have been adapted for a newer generation. Through this, the band has developed its own style, free of labels, and standing out for its originality of its repertoire and the charisma of its singer, Christina Herlander.

The Sao Paulo band, Sambasonics released in both Brazil and Japan, through its label Urban Jungle, is the first album. The CD is a collection of original material and reinterpretation of Brazilian classics.
