I love Nik and Liz together for so many reasons - aside from the chemistry, the connection, the understanding, the hotness, sexiness and angst, but they also have a playful side. And best of all, the get to shine both as individual characters and as a couple. Hopefully that will resume soon.

@TheOnly1tonid, LL2 bothered me because Lucky only became interested in Liz after she was raped - she became something of a good girl due to her trauma & that's what he loves. NEM annoyed me because Nik defined himself through Emily the way Liz did through Lucky - to the point where he didn't seem like his own person. I wasn't a NICO fan but I have to say Nik loosened up a lot during that time. NIA was good while it lasted, Katherine, Nadine & Rebecca - utter failures. NIZ is a success!

@TheOnly1tonid. With LL2, Liz became idealized through Lucky but he didn't appreciate the real woman she is. With Liason, while they had potential in the beginning, reduced Liz to pretty much a third wheel and she barely got airtime. LiRic started off great but got really twisted and it was always about Sonny for Ric. I think Liz and Zander could have worked but it was dropped and then ruined. NEM - well, that was too much like fairy tale. NICO had its moments, but wasn't great.

@TheOnly1tonid , I love your comment! You're so right on - I can remember when these characters had such a front-burner s/l in which they were the focus. Granted, it's lacking quite a bit now due to Becky Herbst's real-life pregnancy and maternity leave, but I hope it picks up for NIZ when she returns. I've always liked both characters separately & wanted them together. The problem is, in the past, they were always defined more by who they were with. It's great to see them get to shine.

Liz & Nik brought each other 2 life in a way that no other relationship ever has. They were always the background music in the everyone else's story. Tools 2 move some other character's life forward. When they came together, Lik stopped sleepwalking their ways through GH. Liz became a woman aware of her power; Nik became a man & Cassadine, willing to take what he wants for once. They needed each other & anyone else would only be a substitute 4 the real thing. Good riddance Liason & LL2 & Em/Nik!
